1994 release by Macro, and Relentless Agony is an appropriate name. The material on is this tape hardly lets up and is more or less a full blown exercise in harshness. The main focus on this release is just creating a straight up cacophony of feedback and distortion. The more complex layers and compositional editing found on later tapes isn't as prominent here and there are also some elements within that the group later shed. For example, the tracks Rockslide Pt. 1 & 2 feature some psychedelic guitar freakout buried under the other usual elements. However this isn't the norm on most tracks and it features more of the Macro lo-fi scum we've all come to love. The last track is a nice surprise as well, it features a contribution by Keith Brewer of Taint.There is a more primal tone to these tracks and they just go for the jugular in a more simplistic fashion. A good Macro release, but certainly not their most essential work.They hone their craft to precision a year later releasing many classic works.
