This disc is very much a product of its time. There's some really hokey psychedelic stuff and political commentary here ("Great Society" leads the pack), but also some really cool songs - "I'll Never Forget" and "Sentimental Lady" feature singler Rod Justo doing his best Roy Orbison impression, and he pulls it off really well. This album is also of note because it's early work from Buddy Buie and J.R. Cobb, who later became the nucleus for the Atlanta Rhythm Section. In fact, you can trace a straight line from this Lp to the debut of ARS in 1970. So for that historical connection, it's worth picking up, but don't look for any barn-burning sides here; it's really a document of the times.
