Gatefold sleeve includes a 12-page booklet with lyrics in Hungarian and English and scores of the vocal pieces, and the scores of the instrumental ones.

We collected the tunes of this recording in Baranya county on two occasions. At first we collected tunes in the cultural centre in Izmény on the 19th June, 1983 and for the second time in private houses in Izmény and Majos on 1st July, 1984.
The tunes noted down in the booklet in case of the sung tunes refer only to the first verses. The only exception is tune A/1 whose two main tendencies of melody-variation which can be heard in the course of singing can only be demonstrated in the score by means of two verses. On the other hand the instrumental tunes are presented in full.
After the texts the standard numbers of the Systematization of Folksong Types of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences referring to our tunes can be found with Benjamin Rajeczky’s explanation to the tunes. (The Systematization of Folksong Types is the central collection of the strophic Hungarian folksongs, which in principle contains all the data in the possession of the Institute of Musicology, the copies of folksongs published, copies from other collections when possible and the most important reference material in uniform packing, numbered.)
In the comprehensive table after the notes the published tune types divided according to styles are summed up. The register made on the basis of tune types refers to the results of further researches besides the basic work entitled Hungarian Folksong Types I-II by Pál Járdányi (published in 1977). The Catalogue of Hungarian Folksongs (Janka Szendrei and László Dobszay, 1988) to be published in three volumes will sum up all these arranged according to styles. The undertaking, whose first volume is already in the press will offer a catalogue-like guide to the material of the Systematization of Folksong Types and at the same time by arranging the types registered stylistically outlines – according to our present day knowledge – the crystallization points of the Hungarian folksong material and helps us to see our folk music in its greatest relating units. The numbers in the following column of the table stand for the chapter in the volume expressed by Roman numerals and the tune dealt with expressed by Arabic numerals. In addition the numbers of the songs in the collection entitled The Book of Hungarian Songs by László Dobszay is also given. The collection meant to popularize contains more than 600 tune types with longer-shorter notes referring to certain songs to help understanding from the viewpoint of either the text or the tune, the genre, the custom, the function or historical aspects. The summary at the end of the book outlines a picture easy to survey the various history of styles of our folk music.
