This is the first volume in a new series called FIELD RECORDINGS that will expand on ideas surrounding improvisation, indeterminacy, and composition. This first volume consists of live duo percussion improvisations without the use of overdubs. The idea was to change the dynamic of how we create music by positioning ourselves with foreign instruments in a different environment. Prior to the recording, we collected objects and instruments to build two separate drum kits. The ten tracks were then performed and recorded in one hour on a saturday afternoon. The recording took place in Gregs Workshed with the doors open.
