Melt, break, bury destroy!!! This one record alone explains why British Decca was on the down wood spiral why they were loosing all collectors and music lover's respect.This is the wrong version/mix! Its a seriously short chopped up Radio/7" edit of a 10 1/2 full length USA symphony.Who did the gaffs and why it's too late the horse has long since bolted, Ted Lewis daffodil food.The label says it all and it is actually sad rather than a crazy joke "Disco Version" somewhere along the scheduling at Decca House it was obviously planned to go with the USA 12" full version and there is no reason to suggest that these were not sent over to London LHR.What clearly has gone wrong was paperwork, checking and the master engineer given (hopefully) in error the USA 7" Radio/Single tapes, as also the album tapes had been supplied maybe the single tape didn't have the word Edit or the time on it. Maybe the cutter didn't know this gem should have been 10 1/2 mins, whoknows? But, whatever the gaff cock-up mistake error or just sheer stupidity this circumcised version spread across 12" vinyl was never corrected or put right. No excuses or but's British Decca did put this out as a 7" (even in Stereo!). Perhaps "Fred" on the cutter went off for a cup of tea, the tapes got mixed/muddled, whoknows? However, once you have heard or have obtained the full USA Disco Version then you will understand the first commands I have made, and hopefully on securing the USA 12" you will follow to the letter.There was no need or reason for this travesty to happen and clearly strapped for cash Sir Edward and his team had no desire to fork out a days wages and get the matter put right. What made this a whole lot worse the USA 12" was kept quiet and away from our shores, What you don't know about syndrome. Luckily the odd ore or two escaped and were gold dust back in '77. The rest as they say is almost history.This is a gem of a production, arrangement and studio players and time! Since I fell for You is an all time American Songbook classic Nancy Wilson does a faultless job Mickey Motown Stevens adds his pen and tune to really make this a wow from both songs young and old new and refreshing. Motown lost a great tallent, thank god they did so that he could really cut a groove. 10 out of 10 because it is wonderful ; -10 out of 10 because like circumcision, factually and actually, the important and best parts are missing! (Hope there is a better £ to $ exchange rate for you :) )
