Frey
Friday Music is a joke. I am not surprised to read so many terrible reviews of this pressing.
lucky kitten
The EU pressing will, in years to come, be the most sought after. There is a delicate yet lively grace about this particular pressing...system dependant and subjective to one's own ears I should imagine...very pleasing to my ears though! :)
sunrise bird
This might be the only concert I've ever truly loved and having a big physical box of it is nice. The records are beautiful, though the high quality stream on Spotify sounds the same, the box was not worth the 100$ price tag. I feel like the presentation lacked love and the real attention it deserved for the price tag. But it is something I love.
Terr
Absolutely fantastic. The record sounds amazing. The only flaw of box set is informations. A richer booklet would be a perfect addition to this great release.
Shadowbourne
Was a little worried about the sound having heard the neg reviews, but the EU pressing sounds magnificent to my ears at least. And I have the DVD to compare to.
Alexandra
One star. This record is a good example of how useless it is to put a "180g" sticker on a record. The sound is horrible; at the end of side 6, you can HEAR a fade out in volume in the middle of China Girl, probably because it is near center label and the meters were about the explode when they were doing the master. There is a lot of problems with sibilances... did they just dump the cd on vinyl or what? Anyways, this is very disappointing. Oh, and there is nothing but one or two pieces of paper in the box - and the three blue records. Avoid!
Ziena
Outstanding sound in 3 beautiful transparent blue vinyls in a great paperboard box with two ineer sleeves. This sounds better than CD version. In Spanish we say: "mejor que mamada con Nutella".
Dainris
Does anyone know how many were pressed? Us? Ue editions?
Paxondano
Yeah im searching for the same answer...Limited to how many ? limited to 1 million...???
Zieryn
Some surface noise audible at low volume points of life on Mars and the end of Heroes. Sounds great overall through a good setup considering this is a live recording. Label stickers on side 5 and 6 came switched. Luckily the tracks are all there.
Tojahn
How is the sound on this press, the same as US?
The Apotheoses of Lacspor
About the sound itself it is slightly better on this pressing. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the same digital master source but the pressing itself is a bit better, not perfect at all but a bit better. The trebles are less harsh if you know what i mean. About the box itself, the inside of the box is softer than the US one, the texture on the poster is softer, the plastic sleeves are clearer and softer as well and the records are deeper blue. On the US ones they are more transparent light blue. Hope it was helpful.
Arlana
Sounds great for me. Beautifull box and nice blue lp.
Gribandis
Hm, this could have been good with a little more effort - the sound is average (at least if you listen to it on a decent system) and the "poster"/inserts included are just a bunch of pictures put on thin paper. No booklet, no liner notes, no real loving attention for this extraordinary artist and his wonderful music.
Rexfire
funny they had to change the order of the songs, now the introductions are at the end of side B, at the end Bowie is refering to Under Pressure which is not the next song in this order (but as 3rd on side C).
Sarin
Hmmmm given this is a limited coloured vinyl release, I wonder can we expect a regular black vinyl release down the line? Hopefully.
Talvinl
It's a shame. Again another rip-off of the Music Industry after Bowie's death. The Vinyl looks nice - but that's all. A terrible sound, no dynamics, sounds like behind the stage. It#s not worth it to buy - only for collecting. I prefer the CD or even the DVD. Has a much better sound, even though I prefer vinyl. No folks, get ya fingers of that much too over priced box.
Goldendragon
I guess you are one of the MP3 listener. I also have this re-release on vinyl for the first time. And it sounds terrible, more like a soundboard recording rather than an official release. The Sound of the DVD or Cd are far better that this over prized box set. I am a vinyl lover and a "hi-res" fan, but this one here is a rip-off and an insult to all Bowie and Music Fans.
Flamekiller
think this release was planned long ago allready. bowie started to re-release all his records on vinyl since about 2014.
Buridora
No, ya need to git ya fingers outa yur eers!
Sataxe
All I know is that this looks and sounds awesome. Vinyl puts you there..there is no substitute if you really want to experience music the way it was meant to sound. I pre-ordered it from Amazon for $90.00 free shipping delivered to my door so I think I got a decent deal. This is an incredible concert..one of a kind. I had to get it. I'm glad I did.
Whiteflame
Do you have anything to add to the conversation, or are you just going to whine about the price?Since he died, all his vinyl works shot up in price. Do your homework..What do you spend a hundred bucks on? A pull on the one armed bandit..maybe put it on a horse to win..maybe in a night of drinking? That'll make you sick for sure! Well I chose something that will bring me yearsOf joy and only become more valuable as time goes on.
Bort
$90 for 3 records (a single album) is a decent deal? Yikes, this sort of price gouging post death makes me sick.
Anen
Think it is pretty expensive outside the US, because of the additional import charges that the end customer needs to pay. You can also try and order it in the US directly and hope that customs will not sting you. The other Friday Music releases were also expensive in at least Europe.
Saberblade
Until now I had to pay extra customs fees when I ordered from Friday Music. But the price will eventually be the same if you buy it here at a record store. They also have to pay those extra charges. US citizens get a good deal on this one. But I must say that the sound is a bit flat. It sounded better on the DVD version.
Maman
Yep all the Friday Music releases are quite expensive here in the UK. Have taken a gamble that I'll not get stung with additional customs fees!
Dead Samurai
If you only knew what they do in Brazil (65% tax) you will say you are lucky. Here they charge for importing LP´s and CD´s they should not have any charge on them as they are as books it is for culture is not the latest Ipod.Meanwhile all the record companies in Brazil pay no taxes to the government for more than 40 years as all releases go under the Music is Culture tag free of tax.Disgusting!!!!
Humin
How many of these are being pressed? €100+ for a triple LP is steep!
Ironfire
I heard of about 1.000 copies. I won't buy this. Cheapest offer in Germany is ~120 Euros, others charge 180.-, this is insane!
