Thanks to Mon Amie Records for this beautiful edition. I think we all can find something to say about "this and that" etc etc but the resuslt is that we've got a very rare thing in our hands, so... My only question is about Q Lazzarus herself : is anybody knows more about what she became ? Q is a complete mistery ...

I can't fault this release because the second demo of Goodbye Horses has been spinning non stop here. What a pleasant surprise! The same song/lyrics, yet so much of a different take. Maybe not the definitive release on wax fans were hoping for without the extended cut of GBH, but still a welcome edition to those who missed out on previous releases.
Original
Presumably Mon Amie are milking this license til the eventual release of the original 12" version of "Goodbye Horses", and I'm not sure anyone waiting for that will be satisfied with (again) the single edit and these two demo versions (different and interesting but ultimately inferior).Anyway the more compelling reason to buy this record is for the b-side demo tracks, funky no wave stuff in the style of Rajan James - "Impossible Dreams".

Is it that hard to repress the best version ?

none of the last two releases had the 7" version which is the best version they can't get it right

A pretty solid release of this classic song barring a couple of issues:1. The lack of the extended version of the main song and White Lines is a bit disappointing admittedly, since those on vinyl are very hard to come by. Easiest way to get the extended version these days is to get the Clerks II soundtrack and White Lines is a different story all together. I understand that a rep from Mon Amie posted below mentioning issues with finding the masters but still, it is a flaw to mention so let's hope they can find those masters and make a new pressing possibly.2. The demos could have used some audio touch up in a couple of spots, despite being demos of course. Nothing drastic, just maybe try to clean up the distortion here and there.Aside from that, I am really pleased with this release since it includes previously unreleased Q Lazzarus material which was a great listen. The Goodbye Horses demos were pretty rad and the second one sounds close to a Depeche Mode track. The demo tracks on side B were a great listen too even with my minor complaints about the quality, makes me wish Q went on to do a full album since those songs too, rocked. As for the vinyl itself, very well pressed, nice and thick and I have not had any issues with pops and crackles that a good cleaning could not fix. Highly recommended if you are a fan of the infamous song from Silence of the Lambs even with the issues.

no white lines? weird, considering it was the b-side on the original

We're pleased to share more details on the new Q Lazzarus reissue, out 4/21. This EP will be out digitally and on vinyl (limited to 1000 copies) and features the 7" single edit of "Goodbye Horses" (the same as our last pressing), 2 demos of "Goodbye Horses," and 3 original Q songs in demo form. It's been a long journey finding this source material and obtaining the rights for release, but we hope you enjoy this new insight into the mysterious world of Q Lazzarus. For those of you who are requesting the 12" single edit of the track, unfortunately our quest for all Q material has come up empty handed when it comes to those masters, but our search continues. We hope you enjoy this new material in the meantime!Source: Mon Amie Records Facebook

The extended 6.27 12" version of the track Goodbye Horses appears on the Clerks II soundtrack of all places: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Clerks-II-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack/release/1090945

Nice release, but maybe now we can have a reissue with the extended 12" version give a side of vinyl to itself.
