This live album contains a fantastic high-energy Bob Seger concert that took place in a small club called Ebbet's Field in Denver, Colorado on July 8, 1974, just a little over a year before the legendary LIVE BULLET concerts. Earlier in 1974, Seger had put together his long-time backing band The Silver Bullet Band and had released his critically acclaimed seventh studio album—aptly entitled SEVEN—in March of the same year. That album included the hit single "Get Out of Denver," which has been covered by Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Status Quo, among others, and provided the title for this release. The lineup of the Silver Bullet Band for the concert tour in July of 1974 featured Bob Seger on vocals and guitar, Drew Abbott on lead guitar, Chris Campbell on bass, Robin Robbins on organ and keyboards, and Charlie Allen Martin on drums and backing vocals. The band had a raw, hard rocking sound back then and the setlist consisted mostly of upbeat rock 'n' roll songs with a few blues numbers mixed in. Seven of the fourteen tracks on the GET OUT OF DENVER live album are also featured on LIVE BULLET, Bob Seger's first live album, released on April 12, 1976. Therefore, if you are familiar with LIVE BULLET, you will have an idea of what GET OUT OF DENVER sounds like, although, needless to say, the latter album sounds much rawer as it is a radio broadcast. The show was broadcast live on radio station KBPI-FM and has been bootlegged many times over the years. However, the audio quality on this "semi-official" release from Chrome Dreams / Smokin' Production (cat. no. SMCD910) is better than on any other release of this show I have heard. I assume the producers of this CD had access to the master tapes of the radio station. This live album is also interesting because it includes three songs that are not officially available anywhere else. Those songs are two cover versions, namely Albert King's "Don't Burn Down the Bridge" and The Sensational Alex Harvey Band's "Gang Bang," and one original Seger song, "Sail On," which was recorded for SEVEN but never made it on the album.I recommend GET OUT OF DENVER: 1974 LIVE RADIO BROADCAST to anyone who likes Bob Seger's early seventies albums like SMOKIN' O.P.'S, BACK IN '72 and SEVEN or classic Detroit rock in general. If you are only familiar with Seger's commercial hits from the mid-seventies onwards, it would probably be a good idea to check out the classic LIVE BULLET album first.

Is it possible to add the Lp version that was released .
