If you look 'quirky' up in the dictionary you just see a picture of this guy's face. A whole load of what sound like home-recorded demos and under-produced studio sessions. The band are buried a bit while the vocals are way upfront - but that's ok because I like David's voice and the lyrics are definitely 'quirky'. After a time the thing wears you down a bit as some of the tracks overstay their welcome, drifting into the 5 /6 minute zone and David's voice is a bit strained. I like it though, it's approximately 10,000 times better than over-produced slick 'rock' music from any era you may care to name. The guy is a total original.You get both sides of the Psychopath's brilliant 1967 single Til The Stroke Of Dawn... and also a very wayward re-recording from sometime in the early 1970s, complete with double-tracked vocals that wander all over the place. Good fun.
