Record comes with a letterpressed sleeve and insert with essay by Aaron Harbour.

Handnumbered eidtion of 100. Five of which are artist editions that came in a hand built case by McKelvey, and included a lathe-cut plastic sleeve with a third piece of music.

Canti for Paul Kos is composed of two separate versions of the long form piece "Composition for Synthesizer, Voice and Ice", which was created with the Paul Kos piece "Sound of Ice Melting" as an influence. The two pieces that comprise this record are meant to represent various "canti" of the original composition. While the installation by Paul Kos was an initial visual inspiration, this piece was also inspired by the work of many composers, particularly the work by Alvin Curran. I see this as a documentation of individual building blocks and divisions from the original composition that have been given their own space for meditation. - Collin McKelvey 2012.

Side A is sourced from the original stereo studio recording of "Composition for Synthesizer, Voice and Ice".

Side B is sourced from a room recording of the 4.1 live performance of "Composition for Synthesizer, Voice and Ice" at the Berkeley Art Museum, April 15th 2012. Opening voice by Chris Duncan.
