Like many of the artists on the Contellation Tatsu label I have not heard of Fluorescent Heights but I a now a fan. The material comes with simple beauty that eases one's mind. There is added surface noise that adds to the listening experience as if you were listening to an old record player coming from another room. I don't like using the term "new age" to describe this current trend of experimental material surfacing up on mostly cassette only releases but I see it as a new wave of artists who expressing themself on whatever physical format they can afford. The reward for the listener who still owns a tape player is being able to discover new music like what Constellation Tatsu and other cassette labels have to offer nearly 30 years as most of the music consumers did away with their turntables and tape players and embraced CDs and the digital world. This tape will appeal to listeners of experimental music from the 1970's and 1980's from the likes of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Brian Eno, early Mike Oldfield, Steve Roach, Vidma Obmana, Coil and others. Keep a look out for future releases by this artists and label as I know I will.....
