Sonic CD is probably my favourite Sonic The Hedgehog game, and it's soundtrack doesn't disappoint. Both the US and the Japanese/Europe Soundtracks to the game are great, though I think the Japan/Europe one is my personal favourite, as I feel it suits the game better and is more Sonic-ey. The game has seen something of a renaissance in the past few years when the it was uploaded to the iTunes store, and is probably more popular than ever seeing as most people didn't have the Mega CD add-on for the Megadrive (Sonic CD is the only game I own and ever played on that device!).

NOTE: This review is for the Japanese/Europeen Version of the soundtrack, as the US version has a different one. Now this soundtrack just plain rocks! I have been a fan of the Sonic The Hedgehog video games since I was 4, and out of all the Sonic games, this one (for the Mega CD add on for Sega's Megadrive/Genesis)in my opinion is easily his best both for the game itself, and it's kick-ass soundtrack. On to the sountrack itself, if you like listening to Old-School Rave, mixed in with J-Pop (Japanese Pop Music), this is gonna be right up your street, and it goes so well with the game itself. The two vocal tracks (Toot Toot Sonic Warrior and Cosmic Eternaty) are nice poppy tracks, that open and end the game, plus the four variations of the Zone Stages music, are very well put together, that creates both atmosphere and head-bopping. The actual game itself however, is a masterpiece and puts all of the fairly mediocre games of Sonic's we have seen in recent years to shame. It is currently out of print, but you can buy it on Ebay, plus you can get it on the Nintendo Gamecube collection "Sonic Gems Collection".
