The Pete Shelley track was first covered by German artist P.L (Ralf Hennings) in 1982 who did an Italo-disco cover version. He got the track name mixed up and called it 'I Don't Know What It Is' when it was in fact 'Witness The Change' that he was actually covering. Totally agree with Shoom's response and this is a superb tune.However they ripped of without crediting Pete Shelly and Martin Rushent (Of Human League Dare fame) tune called "WItness the Change." They even got the name wrong. "I don't know what it is" is yet another unrelated tune by Shelly, Rushent.Check out "Witness the change" by Pete Shelly.This is nothing more than a cover version what wouldn't have been so bad if they had acknowledged this on the sleeve somewhere. Still, a top tune and very well remade, still this is nothing short of plagiarism.

Ok so, P SHelly is on the label, but no where does it say its a cover version. Many people will remember Sined Roza for there superb tune, when really me or you could have done it. Its just a MIDI file and diffrent sample memu.

No mate. On the A side its I dont know what it is. On the B side its an instrumental of I dont know what it is that then is mixed into Witness the Change. A sort of Megamix as they used to call it. Witness the Change features also the Pete Shelly album on its own. And its exaclty the same music as Sined Rozas I dont know what it is. Sorry but I am strongly against editing comments after they have had a reply. It totally ruins the integrity.By the way, if you listern to the Pete Shelly stuff that used the awesome producer Martin Rushent and then listrnt to Dare by Human League its amazing why Rushent didnt just write both himself and not bother with either Shelly or Human League. I mean suerly a producer should make a diffrence but both peices of music by supposidly diffrent composers are very similer. Have a listern mate. Esspecially the drum programmng on I dont know what it is/Witness the change mega mix then Love and Dancing by League Unlimited (Human Leagues remix LP or Dare) How I wish I could of hired a 'producer' to 'help' me with my disertation at uni. He could have done everything and I could have slapped my name to it. Lol

Ok, but no where does it say its an absolute cover version or remake of Witness the Change. Its still laughable that they used the wrong title that was on the other side. On the Original Pete Shelly 12" the A side is I Dont know what it is and sounds nothing like the Sined Roza versionHowever the B side "Witnesss the change" that Sined Roza acctualy copied very closly is the same. To many spiffs eh? hahaAs much as I love both versions and would hate to take anything away from the the Sined Roza remake what is very well produced it still stands that it is nothing more a similar MIDI file with diffrent sample menu or synths sounds used. I honesty think when Sined Roza copied this so closly they should be more open about the fact this is a remake/cover that just writing P Shelly in very small print on the label.(I have bother 12"s here with me.)

Absolutely essential Italian tune - from the opening uplifting synth chords you know this is going to be powerful stuff indeed ;o) / However what most people don't realise is that this is a cover version of Pete Shelley's "I Don't Know What It Is" (http://www.discogs.com/release/22638) - for those that love the Sined version (which is very rare & commands a price up to 50 GBP) the Pete Shelley original is worth checking out for a snip of Sined's price ;o)
