So does anyone know why this was split between two CDs? 65 minutes isn't over the standard CD timelimit, so why the choice to split them in two? Is it purely for aesthetic reasons? That aside I really am enjoying this release.

Having contacted the label a few weeks ago to enquire about this unnecessary waste of resources, they confirmed to me that this layout corresponds to the artistic vision of the artist.

What you refer to applies to vinyl and not compact discs. It may be an attempt at humour, but it is terrible disinformation nonetheless. Not to mention the seven incredibly humorous fellows who liked this reply."These so-called 12-inch singles could carry extended versions of songs, or carry the same material as regular singles with wider spacing between grooves, allowing for higher sound quality than regular singles."(Source: http://www.recordcollectorsguild.org/index.php?name=Sections&req=viewarticle&artid=3&page=1)

Maybe ´cause the record is footage from 2 diferent concerts, one disc for one concert, the second one for the other.I don´t have the original record, so I can´t read what does it has written about it, if it´s something written in there...
Cerar
having the music spaced out over 2CDs allows for wider CD grooves thus better sound quality...
