Up to their usual high standards of performance and creativity. There are at least two tracks here that have hit potential. "Sing Me a Song" is an anthemic and I think optimistic toe tapper that just bounces along nicely, and "Shining Teeth" is a raw plea for honesty and openness. The production is clear and as natural as amplified electric instruments can be. It certainly does Margo justice. I have the LP and would recommend it.
Global Progression
A great album-- they've never "lost it". Timeless sounding yet very much of today lyrically. So glad they made this record! Sadly, my copy suffers from annoying surface noise even after a thorough cleaning on a Hannl RCM. Going to try another copy. The inner sleeve was that awful paper, semi-glossy on the inside-- it scratches the hell out the vinyl upon each insertion and removal. Resleeving is a necessity for this LP.
