Gloria Estefan explores Cuba's musical diaspora with Cachao, Paquito D'Rivera and many other Latin music legends

New one-hour radio special dedicated to Cuba's musical diaspora, and its rich heritage that continues through its most prominent exiled artists. Gloria Estefan, Cachao, Paquito D'rivera and other Cuban-born musicians comment on the music from their homeland, and their collaborations on these songs recorded for Estefan's new album, 90 Millas.

As Cuban people spread across the world, so did their music and culture. That history remains alive wherever Cubans landed, especially in New York, Miami, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Most importantly, these musicians passed these traditions to the new collaborators they found in their new homes. Their rich traditions reached new audiences as it mixed other genres or evolved into new ones - such as Salsa, Fania, or Gloria Estefan's Cuban-styled pop.

Estefan worked with many of the artists responsible for this progress to create the new arrangements of Cuban classics featured on 90 Millias. Candido Camero, Israel "Cachao" Lopez, Generoso Jimenez, Paquito D'rivera, Sal Cuevas, Paquito Hechevarria and Nelson Gonzalez join Estefan to discuss the history, present and future of their musical roots.
