Yes, there is a slight melancholy to"Star Chime" or sadness as the previous reviewer states. Sometimes I experience this feeling as lost potential, which I experienced many times at various dance events back in the old days. My first party in Anjuna Beach in December of 1993 was one of the biggest moments of disillusionment I had ever experienced dancing because of the high expectations and also because of the fragmented nature of the party and the egocentricity of the DJ. A couple weeks later came the peak experience of a lifetime on the dance floor at a party thrown by Ollie Wisdom and Ray Castle. Serious dancing is like that........full of high's and low's......just like life. Nothing wrong to experience this emotion of loss or sadness on the dance floor as long as fulfillment can come later in the set. As I listen to this song, there is an achingly beautiful longing underneath it all. Isn't this the longing for oneness that all of us experience at one time or another? At 5 minutes the song open's up to it's galactic potential and the sadness begins to fade. Such a beautiful song. Yes, it is all the things that Goa Trance could have been.......but it is also part of what it did become. So many hidden gems waiting [yet] to be discovered in this magical world of Classic Goa Trance. To the Artist Goa experience: Thank you for the subtle beauty of this masterpiece. You have left my world in a much better place.

To me, this is all the beautiful things Goa-trance could have been. The stars really do chime on this record, and theres even a little sadness somewhere in there. I find that to be a huge relief and very beautiful. I don't know many other records that does what this one do, but its perfect on a dancefloor and soothing for the mind. Just like the stars really are in Goa. Even though the record is rather old now, theres not much alike it. It seems that trance just doesn't feel too comfortable close to anything else than a very broad smile.
