ALLERSEELEN at his best, surpassing the genre of industrial neofolk, this is orchestral military arctic pop perfection more close to GAS (oh yes) rather than to DERNIERE VOLONTE. And Gerhard is not alone here: besides Sabine, who is again transforming a song into a hymn (remember: Flamme, Alle Lust will Ewigkeit, and now Neuschwabenland), some other prominent figures joined the party: Ernst Jünger preaches the discipline of ice, Herman Hesse boasts on his inner transformation, Rainer Maria Rilke toasts to hyper realities, Friedrich Nietzsche frowns silent in the corner since he knows it all. Who needs drugs with albums like this.

Made-with-Love

Despite I hear many voices against this album and this band in general, I have actually quite enjoyed "Neuschwabenland". A bunch of dark, static beats, looped samples (some of them from U96!), and German utterances. Altogether it creates quite an atmosphere of a cellar with cobwebs and fungi stench around, used mainly for some neo-Nazi masohists' get together. It's fun, lively, and a bit unpredictable, although it requires a listener's sympathy for dark, neofolkish, or postindustrial climate.
