This album was recorded monaurally and stereophonically in a leading studio in Nashville, Tennessee, with Tommy Strong and Bill Porter at the controls assisted by technician Bill Vandevort. Instruments and mikes used were piano, Altec 150; electric guitar, Neuman M49; acoustical guitars , Nueman U48 and KM54; drums, Telefunken KM56; bass drum, RCA 77; Rex Allen vocals, Nueman M49, background vocals, Neuman M49. This session was recorded at 15" per second on Ampex 350-2 and 300-3 tape recorders.
