2 LP vinyl edition of 2003/1998 release with blue vinyl promo limited edition (only the first LP is pressed on blue vinyl, the second LP is on black vinyl)This album is one of the best combinations of Burton / Holland / Corea / Metheny that have been produced over the years in various formats. The jazz in this album is very good, flowing freely but with good and steady rythmic foundations, and no intellectual pretentious stuff. Just good fun with great musicians who all know each other for years - excellent feeling from A to Z. I have the SACD version of this record which sounds very "airy" and spacious, but this version sounds like a good jazz band on a tight session. Highly recommended.

Gugrel

Nothing really earth-shattering happening here, but what one can find is five members of the jazz elite playing really, really well. Nice bunch of tunes which vary stylistically, great soloing and effortless interplay. Pulling off the guitar-vibes-piano -combination is impressing, as is the rhythm section, too. Always a treat to listen to this record, which finds guitarist Metheny and pianist Corea together on record for the first time. Highlights include: Metheny's now-standard "Question & Answer" and the moody "Tears of Rain", Corea's "Windows" and Burton's classic "Country Roads".
