The bonus track on this CD is actually not by Major Surgery at all, but comes from this release: The Stollywood Harlets Featuring Don Weller - Calypso Reg from 1982, a band that were actually THE DAVE BARRY QUARTET featuring DON WELLER incognito, doing pastiche genre music in the jazz style.

Just listened to the remastered re-released CD of this excellent album available now! everything is so much crisper and clear - well worth a listen and purchase, plus an extra track that they couldn't squeeze onto the LP.

You're right, just great

You don't get much quality jazz-rock/fusion from the UK in the mid-late 1970's, as most bands went either too schmaltzy or got too funky, or worse. So this was a surprise. At first I thought maybe Don Weller's sax was a bit too dry, but he cuts it well against the solid rhythm section. Mostly the structure reminds me of German bands of the same era, Morpheus, Munju, Moira, etc. Although there are references to Nucleus and Isotope. A nice one!
