One of the most exciting recordings in the history of the British R & B.The third album, of Alexis Korner and the second live.. after the historic debut of "R&B From The Marquee". Unknown who the musicians supports. The photos of the cover does not help for identify .The "Jack Bruce" playing of kontrabass. The playing of "Ginger Baker" is typical. In song helps the "Herbie Goins",while the familiar sound of the tenor saxophone belong in "Dick Heckstall Smith"In alto saxophone the "Graham Bond" (who maybe plays organ in some tracks). If it is not sits himself behind the piano, probably in this position to be at "Johnny Parker".Without prejudice refer to these musicians because they accompanied him at the time.(Nick Kodogouris)..The group is still called Blues Incorporated, but without Cyril Davies or Long John Baldry, who were present on the first record. Recording at Liverpool's Cavern Club was more a gimmick than anything else, and the music is not as well made or exciting as the group's first album. This record shows Alexis Korner's more big-band type blues work, favoring horns. At the Cavern was a good album, but not one that was going to make much noise amid the work of the Rolling Stones, the Animals, or the Yardbirds. [Originally released in 1964, At the Cavern was reissued on CD in 2007 and includes bonus tracks.] ~ Bruce Ede..
