Dangerous
i bought this album when it was released after discovering Kenny Larkin from his earlier warp lp and was very impressed as his sound was a little more sophisticated and aimed at the dance floor ,having said that my favourite track is butterflies ,I find this track to be timeless
Nirad
Timeless masterpiece. One of the most innovative Techno/house album of the 90's. God bless kenny larkin
Yalone
This album when I heard it first back in the 90s I was blown away. It sounded lush, innovative and distinctive. Full of emotion.

I listen to this album like I do U.F.ORB or Dark Side of the Moon. They are so classic and epic that I listen to them when I am finding a black hole of music... those times when I haven't heard anything new that matters and it gets to the point that I don't really want to listen to anything at all.. then I pop this in the player tonight and I begin to remember all of the good things about Detroit. Too bad for all those people who miss out on Detroit- you should go to the next Detroit Electronic Music Festival

Seriously, I never heard of this guy before. Randomly listened to this album and it blew my mind how awesome it was. Definitely recommend this!

how could you not hear bout Kenny Larkin? :)

What an incredible album this is. Beautifully created by one of the most outstanding producer's to herald from the motor city. From the Intro to Amethyst this has to be one of the greatest albums to be produced in the 90's. The stand out track for me is Metaphor. For me this is the best work Kenny has ever done. Starting with the really crisp high hats and the synths gently added layer upon layer. Then the main hook is faded in just teasing you enough to create a sense of anticipation, and by the time the drums kick in, the song just GOES OFF. But to single out one song only would not be giving enough credit to the others. There is not one bad or even average song on this album. Larkin has encapsulated so many different emotions in this album all expertly crafted together, listening to it today it is hard to believe it was made so long ago. A must have album.

Completely agree with last posters comments. This album is sheer class. Delicate improv like playing mixed with hard as nails 909 beats that never turn into the redundant undynamic looped beats you hear on so many techno records. Favourite moment for me is Soul Man. Some of the strings on this album are so lush youd think theyd just been delivered by an angel. Future Techno Funk.
Levion
I bought this record as soon as it came out. I've been listening to it ever since and I still can't get enough of it. Its the most delicately crafted, thoughtful cerebral techno ever put together and its soulful and it you can dance to it . (Its hard to define but its like futuristic Jazz Funk with a serious groove). Most techno doesnt really suit the album format but this is a complete masterpiece. Where are you Kenny Larkin ? Make some more like this.
