Ironrunner
This was one of O'Bryan's (O'Bryan Burnett II from Sneads Ferry, North Carolina) best songs in his short five year career. Similar to Kashif's (Michael Jones from Brooklyn) "Baby Don't Break Your Baby's Heart, which was also released in 1984, both songs made the R&B charts that year. But O'Bryan was a mystery. Some of his songs were downright magical and breathtaking ("You And I", Go On And Cry"), while others were silly and stupid ("Driving Force", "Breakin' Together"). His eventual inconsistencies and problems at getting a permanent contract at Capitol Records led to an early retirement.
