This one's due for a vinyl repress methinks. R&S get on it!

The last 3 Cabs albums, this one included, are credited to Kirk/Mallinder but have no vocals and sound suspiciously similar to Richard H.Kirk's solo albums of the same era so I'm not sure what Mal's input was or if it was just a contractural thing (in the same way that 'Give Peace a Chance' is credited to Lennon/McCartney). Nevertheless this is an excellent record and seems a logical point for the Cabs to finish - making an elegant interpretation of the Techno music they helped inspire. The real high point here is the epic 53 min Project 80 which recalls 'Three Mantras' and the beats n' tape-loops style of their earliest material but also gives Aphex Twin and Autechre a run for their money.

Will pay good money for this. Contact me.

I've an unplayed, mint copy of this 4xLP if you interested? I'm considering listing on eBay, but would sell direct for the right price.

The Cabs' last recording as a group to date. This 2-CD set is a further exercise from where the group left off with 'International Language' and 'Plasticity'. The overall sound is much more ambient and trance-y than the previous 2 releases while still retaining the techno sheen. The 50 minute plus 'Project 80' track on disc 2 is sheer brilliance - the longest track these guys have put on to disc during their career (and if you like 50-minute long compositions of that nature). It's THE definite standout on the release. Worth acquiring just for the generous sampling from the 'Altered States' flick. The 10-minute 'Harmonic Parallel' on the first disc is also worth a listen. For fans of the group and for those who are into the mid-90s Ambient scene, this is an important audio document.
