I wasn't aware of the films or the music from these soundtracks (other than the Galaxie 500 cover of Yoko Ono's "Listen, the Snow is Falling") when I purchased this limited edition box set. I took a chance on it because it looked intriguing and was being sold at cheap price. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of care that was put into this release.The set includes the soundtrack to two surf movies from Andrew Kidman, an Austrian director, musician, artist, and surfer. The 100 page book that comes with the set is work of art in itself and worth the price alone. It is loaded with amazing photos and stills from the films as well interviews, poetry, and background information. Both of the albums are pressed nicely without any discerning issues. The Litmus soundtrack is an album of various artists (though Kidman's The Val Dusty Experiment consists of most of the tracks) while Glass Love is a folky affair from Andrew Kidman alone (including a Dylan cover). The set also includes digital download coupons for both albums (though, oddly, the Galaxie 500 number on the Litmus soundtrack doesn't appear in the download). I highly recommend grabbing this box set while you can not matter what level of knowledge you have of the material beforehand.
