First time around, my favorite by far is "Smoke's Pointless Mix"Edit: Enjoyed it more this time around. Telemetry is pretty sweet. Still not a huge fan of side A thoughMoar edit: This record is really growing on me. Still not quite 5 stars, but definitely a solid 4. Each time I listen I hear new things in each track that I enjoy. All three tracks are great. Definitely glad I picked this one up.

Powerful and emotional tech house song is one of the many highlights on Sven Vath's "Sound Of The Sixth Season" double cd. The frequently misheard lyrics are haunting, morbid, and cryptic. Dark and beautiful. Lyrics: "When all is said and done I don't see the point. Choose me in opposition, now I know which side to join. No indicator at all what's going on. And if you don't make a difference you may as well not have been born."

It's actually this in complete form.... 1. When all is said and done I don't see the point. 2a. To put me in a position I don't know which side to join. 2b. Choose me in opposition now I know which side to join. 2c. To put me in a position I don't know which side to join. 3a. No one seems to care at all what's going on. 3b. No indicator at all what's going on.3c. No one seems to care at all what's going on. 4. And if you don't make a difference you may as well not have been born.

Mixed receptions of the debut release on Soma from Alex the Glaswegian...It is minimal yet emotive, the track will not test the usual tech dancefloor but for DJ mix comps or soundtracks it is awesome, a solid release that impresses and show just what a talent Alex is...

I haven't been a great fan of Mr. Smoke's minimal-tech-alternative productions but this one is an exception. While 'Don't See The Point' is a mellow, vocal-based tech house production which doesn't really offer anything that special, but it's 'Telemetry' that really sets this release apart from his other releases. I really love the main riff – even tough there's a slight resemblance to his big hit 'Chicca Wappa' – which really keeps the song alive with its constant ups and downs while the whole production has been completed with style. The pointless mix of 'Don't See The Point' completes the package with its less-is-more attitude – ending up being more entertaining that the original version. Very nice and useful release.

'Don't See The Point' can easily be described as a lush and beautiful song. Underwater chords and a hypnotic, brooding voice come together in a perfect blend to entrance the listener. This release rides a fine line between minimal tech-house, and downtempo all the while showing no regard for it. Any fan of Matthew Dear's tune 'Dog Days' might find this to be the perfect downtempo alternative.
