Rest assured...'Laser Light' is definately Peters' best album to date! The 3rd studio album from the handsome Aussie singer is nothing short of brilliant! One of the things that make this album work so well is undoubtedly the unashamed use of 'retro' style production & remixing: Getting the likes of Pete Hammond, Ian Curnow, Dave Ford & Matt Pop on board was pure genius (and let's face it; it's what we all wanted!)...and it works perfectly, with tracks like "When love is said and done" and "Every little bit" sounding so much like PWL that even a PWL junkie would be convinced they were recorded around '89/'90 and only recently rediscovered in their vaults! Add to these the cool club sounds of producer John Von Ahlen (turn up the bass AND the volume and play "Love me like a machine"...fantastic!) and you have something for everyone. For a singer fast approaching the big 40, it might have been something of a gamble recording the sort of album usually associated with teenage 'singers', but it works...and brilliantly! Peters' vocals are stronger than ever and work perfectly with the albums songs, even adding a feel of maturity to what is normally considered 'teen-pop' music (and why not...us 'middle-aged' people still feel all the many highs & lows which love & romance has to offer, so why shouldn't we sing about it too!).Simply put; If you enjoyed Peters' first two albums, or if you're a fan of the old PWL style of production/remixing, or you simply enjoy a great pop-dance album...you'll want this in your collection. Well done Peter and everyone else who was involved in the production of this album. Keep up the good work...we love you unashamed!
