Vital Beast
Like classic Testament ("Low"), early White Zombie. Mid-tempo chugging Metal (no speed, but do not fear this is not a speed metal clone or late-coming grunge or industrial release). Raw, tight chugging riffs sounding like a 1980s Thrash/Crossover act going in a Celtic Frost/Cathedral direction, ALL FOR JESUS! If released earlier, this album would have crossed over into secular metal listers' collections. To me, it sounds as if each member has managed to stay true to metal without adopting any of the trends that came, went or stayed post 1990. It is a miracle that a Christian or secular metal band can have any listener baffled once the 2002 date becomes apparent. You would think that this was recorded the same year as the 1st Prong album, and in the same context under the same influences. Considering that there is no google references to this group, it may have been cunning of me to add a false date of 1988 for this submission, only to gain more attention from those who love music from the 80s metal era and are dying, starving to hear more from the era before Lollapaloza, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails etc changed way too many bands' approach to making hard music.
