Malara
While Attica Blues' original BLUEPRINT is amazing in itself, the remixes here take it to another level. For their own remix, they strip down the accompaniment to a cascading piano chord and bring the beat more to the surface. Both Photek and Alex Reece offer drum'n'bass versions, with Photek going dreamier initially before turning more abstract, while Alex Reece uses string stabs for a lovely, dark and melancholy mix. But Plastikman takes the cake here, with a minimal and coolly smooth mix that feels as if it were beamed directly from outer space. Follow this blueprint and you can't go wrong.
