Sagda
What an underrated R&B and soul album. It predates their big hit "Happiness is Just Around the Bend," but it is full of excellent songcraft—hardly a surprise considering 6 songs are written or co-written by Stevie Wonder, and 1 is co-written by the Isleys. The first few tracks are on the sweet and tender side and get things off to a shaky start, but "Work to Do", "You Can Call Me Rover", "Something 'Bout Love", "Love of My Life", and "Something Lovely" are amazing. "Goodbye My Love" is a little over the top but is a great finale. It's rather astonishing that only "...Rover" and one of the lesser tracks, "Girl Blue", were released as singles.
