When you come across an Aussie record that looks about as funky as any Aussie group could look and also has a cover version of Jimmy Castor’s ‘It’s Just begun’ it’s pretty much a no-brainer. Although I’ve read less than favourable reviews of this album recently, I really like this record. To be fair, it’s far more funky rock than hardcore funk, but it’s still really good. The version of ‘It’s Just Began’ has a really rocky edge to it and a nice and different breakdown in the middle too. My favourite cut on the album is probably the title cut Come Together, done in a slow and rocky style with nice heavy drumming. There’s a few other nice covers on here, like ‘Cloud Nine’, Mighty Mighty’ and Sinner Man.’ There’s also a few nice originals, the best of which is ‘Ain’t Nobody’ which also came out on 7” single (aussiefunk.blogspot.com).

One of Australia’s first soul, funk bands that embraced the funk sound coming out of the Us at the time. The album is a mix of funk, rock and soul. With a great cover of Jimmie Castor's B-boy classic “Its just Begun”. More of a funk, rock version (nice, fast & funky). There is also the fast, bongo driven “Sinner Man”, The Mandrill inspired “Time is on your side” and a excellent version of the Temptations “Cloud Nine”. The group gets down with a kick back, bass driven groove on their version of “Come Together”. One of the best track on the album.See more Australian soul funk vinyl on our bloghttp://streetrockrecords.wordpress.com/
