Reverse sleeve on my own copy (no.17/50 - see images) is a hand-made collage featuring cut-outs from a magazine pasted onto a 'blown vinyl' wallpaper backing. This has resulted in a raised 3D image. Pulling this album from my collection yesterday I noticed that on one side of the vinyl record there are marks and blemishes that correspond with the shape and size of this textured wallpaper. It is not present on the other side of the disc. My theory is that the wallpaper contains chemicals that have leached through the sleeve - affecting the record itself (in much the same way as some PVC sleeves are known to harm records). My advice if you have this record is to remove it from the sleeve. I have no idea if all the sleeves were made in this way as there is no other information about it that I could find. The record still plays - but there is slight audible noise on the affected area (final tracks on side 2 in my case).
