The Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. Label, in addition to successful rappers like Ja Rule and Fat Joe, also one of the most successful female debutants by 2002. The young r&b singer Ashanti Douglas saw her self-titled first become an instant hit in America. Songs as Foolish and Happy in Netherlands also reached the top of the charts. Yet the handsome singer with her timid look a lot less to the imagination than its direct competitors Alicia Keys and Mary j. Blige. The songs still leaning too much on the hit environment production of Gotti and Ashanti can with its limited voice but little added value to give, apart from a few exceptions like the sturdy Carry On. Chapter II is again a pleasant sounding and extremely hit environment cd but whether Ashanti is more than a beautiful face is not yet answered.
