Philadelphia’s Curanderos (which translates to “Healing”) brings you 40 minutes of mind-melting, acid-licked noise/psychedelic sound washes from members of Bardo Pond and Kohoutek. The press release calls it “…a cosmic voyage through kosmiche, drone, noise prog and free jazz…” If you like it, you’ll like it a lot. If you hate it, you’ll hate it a lot. I’m one of the likers. I particularly love the second track, where the guitar talks to you with soul-deep, subdued angst. Really good stuff, if you’re far enough out there.

Another great Record Store Day release from Bardo Pond. Different to most of their recent output and almost reminds me of some of their earlier CDR releases. My Rating: B+
