invasion

I'm not sure about Tony Visconti's remix of this. His work on the re-released live albums has been exceptional, but this one feels like revisionism. I have a first pressing of the original release, and the (somewhat) harsh high end reflects the new wave sensibilities of the time. The new one, with more bass and a warmer overall mix, is missing the "anxious" tone of the original, which always seemed intentional. Maybe this is an easier listen, but it isn't Lodger as I remember it.

Curious to know, thanks! Visconti did remaster the album AND did a remix too.I also find this reissue to sound too warm, too bassy. Not a lot of fun to listen too, even boring.

Winotterin

This reissue sounds a lot better than Heroes. The bass is more defined and the separation and clarity is more evident. Bowie's vocals are also more up front and more detail can be heard in the music. Nothing sounds muddy, drums are punchy. Decent overall dynamics and range. Happy with this one.
