Both sides are typical 95 fare in that they tread the line between the earlier old skool breakbeat hardcore and the emergence of the newer happy hardcore. From breakbeat under Kniteforce Records (although most of his releases - like "Airhead" - were through the sublabel Remix Records) to happy and UK under his own label collective Next Generation Records/Blatant Beats, Brisk has had some truly great releases across the full spectrum of the genre loosely defined as "hardcore". This is one of them."Airhead" is definitely the highlight here. A tasty, albeit typical, old skool break combined with happy hardcore kicks and that classic sample (which, admittedly, does sound a lot like "airhead") puts a smile on my face every time. Add to that a simple, catchy keyboard riff and an acid breakdown and you've got yourself a classic tune. "Airhead" later spawned a decent full-on happy hardcore remix (DJ Brisk* / Future Primitive - Remix Records & Kniteforce Present 'The Remix's' Part 4) by Slipmatt under his SMD alias and a UK hardcore remix (DJ Brisk* / Luna-C & DJ Dair* - Airhead / Ready To Rumble (Remixes)) by Brisk & V.A.G.A.B.O.N.D. which I thought could've been much better."Thru' The Knite" is a good enough tune. Another solid old skool break but it's just not as memorable as "Airhead" and feels lacking in content by comparison. Still a worthy B side to a strong release overall.
