Black Sabbath?????

What a great and classic riff to kick off this song, even if it were thrown in for a laugh (don't know). It's hard to fatham how a song such as this, without drums, can rock so hard. One can hear some Sabbath influence through out the Aleph at Hallucinatory Mountain album (with drums, playing around the beat in a way not unlike Bill Ward's style, which I loved and preferred to obvious comparison of the time, John Bonham, heavy and perfect in its own way for LZ, but it pains me to see the slash through Ward's name on the Sabbath listing here). For Lucifer over London... it's just a great arrangement, and Tibet's vocals are at their finest derangement... I never liked his voice on the Death in June stuff... the upper and lower registers didn't do much for me there... but with John Balance adding vocals on this piece, the voices go perfectly together, and are again an upper and lower register with Tibet launching into near Looney Runes histrionics, but it works perfectly, deliciously, here. I wish the vinyl weren't so damned rare and expensive, but so it goes. I have the CD, and then of course the excellent Six Six Six Sick Sick Sick comp.
