Notes

When Jimi Hendrix was sacrafacing his handpainted Fender to a stunned and owlsleyed audience at Monterey, in june 1967, most of this band wern't yet 2 years old. We all got into Jimi over a decade later, heads down, cross legged, wiggin' out to "Purple Haze" and "Foxy Lady", surprising parents by searching through the attic for records they'd bought in another life.
Cut to 1988, London, the second Summer of Love, 60's clothes, clubs "The Trip", "Planet Love" and acid house music. "Acid" was Chicago slang "To Steal", as the music involved sampling, but in England, everyone seemed to take the hallucagenic meaning more to heart. Dance music to enhance you, entrance you, and embrace you... Funny thing was everyone was ignoring guitars. At the time, Beautiful People ran clubs, D J'ing by night, busking "Hey Joe" and "Little Wing" by day, just to get by, on days like those stone free never came off the turntable "to do what I please, to ride in the breeze". Jimi's music was as much for us, people of our age, our generation, as it had been for his own.
However people react to this album, it should be remembered that Hendrix was a pioneer in his time, a warrior in the great musical unknown, always into the latest gagetry, and a master of fusion, be it jazz, blues or soul... To him, there was only two types of music, good and bad. This is a fusion album, a fusion of the music of Jimi Hendrix, us, and the technology of today, if 60's were 90's...
