my copy is absolutely perfect, i listened this CD many years and now... wow!!! If the Disc 1 is great, the Disc 2 and 3 are amazing.Thanks Mondo!! (but is a little expensive)

WB/Rhino, where are you? There is no way in hell that I am giving my money to Mondo and their sh*t pressings, any longer. They've struck more than three times. Horrible, what a shame!

I buy it too fast. I'm agree with all reviews. I have more than 6000 records, and Mondo produce very noisy new records ! It's just incredible to do somthing like that. A professionnal mistake. Continue to product goodies but please try to choice a real producer and a true manufacturer.

ive got three of it, one black, two coloured. All are with noises. So if someone got a good sound, be happy with it. Mondo ist very customer orientated, as far as i can see my solving strategy. Im fine and happy so far.

I got the three color variant of this LP a few weeks back. It’s one of my favorite soundtracks ever from one of my favorite films ever, and Aimee’s songs on it are iconic. I’ve always wished for a proper vinyl press of this soundtrack, so when I noticed this, I went nuts and had to have it inmediately. I opted for the color variant just as a collector, and crossed my fingers and hope it wouldn’t effect the sound quality too much. I had a packaging issue with my copy, as the sleeve and insert arrived bent pretty bad in one corner. Mondo wound up sending me a replacement copy, so I waited to spin the records til then. I just put it on, and I noticed at LOT of surface noise/static during the first cut, “One”. Not noticing as much noise during the songs with more instrumentation, but there is some real awful static during the quieter moments. (Which there are PLENTY during these songs that really make them so magical) I came here to see if anyone else had similar issues, and I see that PLENTY of people have. It’s a shame because the underlying music sounds like they took some great care with the mastering for the vinyl release, but I guess it was just a shitty job with the actual pressing. I’m kind of disappointed because of how expensive the set was, and considering it doesn’t seem like I got a “dud” and that this static is the norm. If you’re a big enough fan of the music on this collection, I wouldn’t shy away from purchasing it if you can find it at the original sale price still. ($45 or so before the shipping). Buyer beware though, with the sound defects. It’s not enough to not warrant a purchase, but if you happen to spend $75+ on this you may be taking a chance.

I was told by Mondo that not all copies have this issue. They replaced mine and the replacement sounds fantastic. Maybe drop them a line.

My copy just arrived, colored vinyl version. I was worried about a noisy/clicking pressing due to user comments. My copy of disc 1, the Aimee Mann lp has no noise or static issues. I may have lucked out. I'm spinning it on a Dual 1218 with a Denon DL-110 cart.

I am wondering if there is less static on the black vinyl as opposed to the colored? As I wrote in my review, my copy (black vinyl) had a great deal of surface noise, but the only place where it was truly significant was on "One"; even "Wise Up", which is an extremely spare arrangement, is relatively quiet on my copy. After cleaning and changing out my stylus, the static on "One" has diminished significantly. It's still there, but not much worse than most modern retail vinyl.That being said, I agree. Great great mastering should not be marred by noisy vinyl.

Got a replacement for disc 1 and it has the same noise problems, also I can hear a lot of clicks in the right channel, just that one in both copies of disc 1. btw besides the noise it has very nice sound over all, I know this sentence is weird but I don't keep noisy or clicky records and I'm keeping this one.

Lovely artwork and presentation. Mine also came slightly warped but thankfully didn’t affect play. Didn’t have noise issues, so might be luck of the draw.

Huge PTA nut and fan of Jon Brion's scores so this was a must buy for me. Wanted to warn others that the vinyl is extremely noisy with static throughout much of the duration on every side. My 2nd LP also came somewhat warped and the pitch shifts as a result. Wish more care would be implemented with these pricey releases... It's clear time and effort were put into the packaging and presentation but, unfortunately, the sound is far from perfect.

Darn it.I've been hearing this from both variants of the soundtracks. If it IS plagued with surface noise, then I'm disappointed with this soundtrack and with Mondo in general. I was hoping this would get a good press like with The Fifth Element. Guess I'll use my vinyl money elsewhere.

I have been listening to this album on CD for YEARS, and the mastering on this vinyl is absolutely AMAZING! It's incredibly dynamic, the arrangements pop like they never did before.Here's the bad news: Although my vinyl came pressed perfectly on center, it's very, very, very noisy. It is particularly bad on tracks like "One" that contain segments in which the instrumental tracks are extremely spare. A decent amount of static, even after cleaning. The music itself has NEVER sounded better. If you are a fan, a must buy. And Mondo, if you invest this much effort into both the packaging and the quality of the mastering, you should certainly focus on the quality of the vinyl itself.

It's also available at Alamo Drafthouse movie theaters, which is where I got mine. It was $54.99 there.
