Wibbly, oscillating little space synth noises flutter away in the background hinting at ancient sci fi computers at work.The beat is simple and down to earth while a heavily reverbed tambourine sounding synth part fills the gaps. This flat out GROOVY ! ”REALISTIQUE” / 127BPM This is the one I can’t stop playing. A disco synth flute loop washed beneath a vocal intro about stereo sound before we realy get in there and the loop comes up in the mix and the funk kicks in. Tighter, more drum machiney beats as opposed to well produced real sounding kits stand out here and a realistic bassline drive this on while that flutey melody carries on. At times this reminds me of Black Devil Disco Club but with more structure. Again, the programming/playing is genius without being pretentious and everything sits very well in the mix. There’s plenty of structure, breaks, builds and middle 8’s to boot. I’ve played this out a coupla times and realy does get arses moving and smiles on faces. ”SHO U RITE” CEEPHAX ACID CREW REMIX. Getting way freakier than any of the other trax, Ceephax’s take on this tune is a little wigged out and full of a lot more bits and samples. Smoothly done and shifting ceaselessly in style this is strictly for the more adventurous and forward thinking or real Rephlex fans. At times like slow drum and bass while at others like an edit mix of the original and then shifting into acid with a lickle 303. I can respect it but it’s not realy my cup o tea.
