Summer 1997, a very hot one here in London, everyone was playing "Reach Out" and mixing it with "Have no Fear" it was like the two were made for each other. So "Reach Out" was one of the definitive summer anthems of that year. However, for me even at the time "Damn" was the track for me, and it still is. A simple tune and beat pattern, this emphasised for me one of the cleverest B-lines constructed in this genre, very deep of course, and complex but still rolling, what always gets me is the call and response feel of the two layered Bass melodies. Big up to the Zinc for that one, masterful.
