Impossible to listen to this album without getting a headache. Production and mastering is so bad it hurts. No dynamics, compressed to death, just loud, nothing else. Ears start ringing after a few songs. Beside that, always the same guitar sound since the very first album and only a few good song ideas. Let’s face it: There is no good album since Carlos Dengler left the band. It‘s obvious how crucial his membership was for Interpol’s sound and songwriting. You can skip this album as the other two released beforehand. The first three albums remain classics though.

Rocksmith

I tend to agree with the general sentiment here, but the self titled lp is absolutely epic, and is technically the last lp featuring the brillulf Carlos. To be fair though, every album since Carlos departure has yielded a handful of nice songs, but his contribution is seminal.
