Iaran
My copy is beautiful. So happy to have this amazing album on vinyl.
Narder
My copy is flat and sounds wonderful. Based on reviews, it would seem that this reissue is the best among the three reissued Sundays albums? I have an original pressing of the debut album and am still hoping to get a decent copy of Blind.
Quinthy
Listening right now.... Sounds perfectly good and the record shows no warping.
Magis
I love the reissue on clear vinyl, mine sounds perfect on a Dual CS5000 turntable.
Biaemi
They know there is a tremendous demand for their output to be re-released and still nothing has been done.
Runeterror
Maybe. EBTG had recent re-releases on MoV and then it stopped. I think they're planning something of their own.
Redfury
It makes me wonder if they actually own the rights to their own cataloge. Many artists don't.. I just saw where Everything But The Girl, who were arguably a much bigger band (more fame, more sales) just recently got control back of their back catalogue after many years.
Nuadazius
It's certainly more playable and less stupendously shiteous than the 2017 Blind repress, but it is definitely a thin, tinny sound, almost definitely from digital or the like and not from any master pressing. I did notice some minor warpy-sounding segments in the middle of both sides, way more brief segments than on Blind....but it makes me wonder if Fugutive has an issue with the weight of their pressings or something with the center of a pressing (Blind's Side A goes off the rails completely about halfway through.) Having said all that, it is playable, and it's a fine placeholder until I can fork out $400 for the original, or until a more humane and ear-pleasing repressing comes into existence.
skyjettttt
Fair point re United vs Fugitive. But ultimate Fugitive is the responsible party. They've had issues with a few of their releases, because they seem to be a press and dash kind of company, with no care to the inside sleeves or ultimate quality.
Chilldweller
This was pressed at United, known for their pressing issues. Search YouTube for 'Tales Of The Deadwax - United', to see what I mean. It is United who has the issues. Fugitive is just the company with the rights to the music currently in the US.
Westened
My copy is flat and quiet for transparent vinyl. I do notice some sibilance but overall it sounds great. My catridge is shure v15 III elliptical. Perhaps that tames some of the brightness that is heard on CD.
Dagdatus
My copy turned out very nice. Perfectly flat. Perhaps a little bright, but good sounding overall.
Dalarin
at least my copy isn't off center and warped like the copy of Blind that dropped (like a pile flaming shit) last RSD. However, the sound is compressed and thin - and I am playing my records on a nice MicroSeiki from the 80s with a brand new stylus. I bet this album would sound great on a Crosley or a Fisher Price record player. If there are truely going to be band sanctioned reissues next year then I suppose the copy I bought today is a place holder. This is the last "Universal Special Markets" release I am ever going to buy. They don't seem to give a shit about the records they press and they don't even include a photocopy of any credits (i'm not asking for a nice glossy inner sleeve but for fucks sake, some information on the recording would be great- i'd even settle for a cd sized booklet).
Yanthyr
me too- TRDelvin is the one who said there is a Reddit article but I certainly can't find it; I'd also love a link.
Throw her heart
I’ve tried to find any mention anywhere of an anniversary box set or remastering.. nothing, so if there is something I’ve missed, pleaseLink me or shoot me a pm
Clonanau
DOMAN127 Are band-sanctioned reissues rumored or are you just saying that to make a point about the quality of this one? I read about it a few threads before this one that I posted. I can't find any articles verifying it which is why I mentioned it,
Worla
Are band-sanctioned reissues rumored or are you just saying that to make a point about the quality of this one?
Micelhorav
Every single copy we got at the store was warped pretty bad.
Lanadrta
I have no issues, nor did I have with my Blind copy.
Agamaginn
Agreed. Sounds pretty awful. Mines a little distorted in places. Not worth the $24.99 I spent.
Brannylv
Another RSD, another record that cost 24.99 this morning being sold for 150.00. Garbage.
Blackseeker
He’ll be sitting on it once word begins to get around that this is a sub par pressing.
