Strange! This issue is posted as an US Version, but the label and the cover shows "Made in E.U.", the labels also show GEMA, MCPS as right holders. This issue was produced in the E.U. and -perhaps- produced and imported for the US market. I bought mine in Germany without the download card. The missing download card and the sticker on front seems to be the only difference between the E.U./UK and the US issue.

Ashes To Ashes (Hardknox Horned Hand Mix) is the best remix ever. 11 out of 10.

This album sounds wonderful, wonderful! so warm and pleasant, no insert but who cares really, the sound alone is worth the money, I don't know about other versions but if you get the chance to buy this one then do it, you will not regret it.

I had my heart set on the MOV release of this, but saw this version on sale recently and pulled the trigger. I'm glad I did! The remaster doesn't change the feel of the album, and the live tracks are killer. Very clean and noiseless pressing!

The best straight on the beginning. This is a stunning reissue of a great album.The bass and the mids are adorable. Fantastic balance, wide sound stage. Pump up the volume of your amplifier. In higher volumes there is a lot of fun and punch for your ears. Abosulutely recommended and again a great job of MOV!

Covers fine but the sound I found was just horrible. Bass was nice but the highs seem quite screechy mainly in the cymbals. Can't hear some of the guitar parts very well not enjoyable. Only got for d side which mine had some noise on the right channel not happy at all

Between the original & the gold MOV reissue is that the original sounds a little more 'foggy'. The MOV reissue has clearer & 'illustrative' sound than the Slash/London original. Which is the 'best' sound? I cannot answer...The volume is exactly the same. My love to this album is also the same as 18 years ago.

Hi, i own this gold edition and the original uk cd, and the double disc with the remixes, the surface noise is in my mind very mild it does exist but the sound throughout is pristine, the other guy is right this isn't the same mix as any version i own, i bought this version as i cannot afford an original press, but this one stands up well, i mean i cannot imagine getting a better sound out of this album anywhere else, the surface noise is almost there to just remind you its on vinyl, i have 0 complaints about it, the balance is amazing as well, full, rich and at a fraction of the cost of an original, although with the prices fluctuating so much between outlets the limited to 2000 seems a bit wonky, But i hold this as the definitive version i own, it;'d been nice to get an ep as well containing all the remixes from the album, the lack of an insert sheet with the artworks and credits sucks but didn't impede my enjoyment, but to the other 1999 people with me in ownership, its fucking beautiful isn't it,.

The clarity, dynamism, depth and lack of distortion to the sound when things get loud make this in my opinion the best pressing of this album available. The forgettable surface noise I experienced with the Golden Edition is nowhere to be heard, so that small matter doesn't seem to extend to this pressing. The detail, the clean sound, the power and punchy bass and taught tight treble are all well defined and balanced.The only issue is that there's not printed inner sleeve and the Angel Dust coopright notes have been used here in error, but I couldn't really care about those things.

The original vinyl edition was very good if slightly too hot resulting in some bleeding when things get too frisky. This is mastered slightly lower and does not suffer in the same way. Surface noise is very noticeable at the start of each track and in quiet parts. You tend to filter it out with time and given the original vinyl's relative cost it's not a massive issue. This edition seems to offer more detail than the original version. Samples in Collision for instance are far more clear whilst the track loses none of its punch. Bass weight and treble balance are all top notch too. Whilst I've not listened to this thoroughly, it's already apparent that this might be from a different source to the CD and original vinyl. At the very least Mouth To Mouth's intro is more detailed and has a different ending before the track starts properly. it's not the same mix. I compared it to the original LP pressed by MPO, the original US CD, original UK CD, original Japanese CD and also with the Japanese and the UK recent reissues on Warner - this is a unique version so there's this little issue too.Whilst I don't want to gloss over the surface noise issue, it's a noisy record so for the most part you won't notice it. I will give this a more thorough listen shortly, but for now I'm very pleased with this pressing.Edit: on the issue of noise, it's a sad fact that a better turntable/cartridge which picks up more detail, will invariably transmit more noise too. This review was in response to Deadpoultry;s concerns about MOV and their issues with surface noise.

I can confirm that the record is getting quieter with each play. so it looks like the noise may be a latent dust issue and my stylus is polishing all the crap out. I should have the black vinyl today. I'll let you know how it goes in a PM.

Thank you very much for detailed info! I have a pretty revealing system; This may unfortunately be too noisy. I really wonder whats the deal with new (c.2000+) vinyl. I've found some pretty bad looking records over the years, but after a good clean with my Loricraft PRC3, 8 or 9 out of 10 would de almost dead quiet. And these are records from the early 70's.. in at least one case i have an old bootleg opaque white vinyl thats also free of the kind of surface noise I find so common these days.

I think you just had bad luck with your copy: I have the golden edition too, and the only surface noise on it is a single pop during Ashes To Ashes.
