The best TD soundtrack? Extremely smooth. Haunting samples, emotive melodies. Here we have some of TD's best use of layers, with shimmering synths dancing at all levels in the mix. Brief Froese guitars melt in and out here and there to add a finishing touch.Crystal Voice and Charly The Kid are the tour de force tracks. Charly: glowing synth layers bounce off each other, with three at one time coalescing to complete the single melody in an impossibly brilliant mathematical formula that sends neurons into a blissful frenzy. For an encore, Shop Territory reprises much of Charly, with a different flavor. Charly was my fave for quite a while but Crystal Voice has taken over: possibly the best 3 minutes in music, ever. Ghostly vox, shimmering synth and an eerily-suburban impact-lawn-sprinkler percussion noise (nice touch guys!), give way to Franke-style drums and the richest, smoothest foundation and soaring melody. Mild come-and-go sequences make a late debut. One of the most understated, brilliant sequences appears at 2:02 to drive the climax lead in to Froese's expertly blended brief guitar bliss. Then it all ripples away, like a fading dream at dawn. Everything that makes a great TD track merged and compacted into perfection.Interspersed with the warm, smooth tracks are Hyperborea-esque percussive pieces. Darker, yet just as interesting. Escaping Point reminds me of the theme from Lexx (sci-fi tv show) which was made nearly a decade later. Looks like the Lexx composer was a TD fan!If you like Hyperborea and Poland, you'll like this one. If you haven't bought any TD yet, this is a good place to start. Pick it up!

Thanks for your reply, sorry for the delay getting back to you; that's a lot of music to look into. I'm listening to some of Melrose now; shares a risky business feel in places. Anyways, thanks!

My other favorites in this vein are (in order) Underwater Sunlight, Logos, Pergamon, Tangram, Oasis. My faves that are a bit different are Exit, 220 Volt Live, Force Majeure, Stratosfear, Miracle Mile, Cyclone, White Eagle, Tyger. I too love Canyon Dreams and bits of Risky Business. I also like Purgatorio. To be honest, there's almost nothing of TD I don't like, but the above are definitely my faves (so far, I haven't yet rated and included many of the newer releases).

Besides Hyperborea and Poland, can you recommend any other similar releases? I also loved Canyon Dreams and Risky Business! Thanks, Neil
