For over 50 years, "Mrs. Hyatt's OpraHouse," an old converted garage just south of Asheville, North Carolina, has been home to countless musicians, fans, family and friends. Their pickin' and grinnin', singin' and footstompin' keep tradition alive as the old tunes and techniques are passed from one generation to the next.
Rank Strangers is part of a multi-media preservation effort, which includes a feature length documentary film, a series of still photographs (as sampled in the enclosed booklet), and a rich collection of recorded music.
