I'm not sure how to react to the Iberian soul funk of "Let's All Go To Spain," the track that opens Big Bang's REWORK PROJECT, other than to say, 'OK, that's odd.' But the oddness fades with 4 Hero's mix of "Lady," a soul groover. Fini Dolo takes "Pressure" into a more constant house rhythm, and Alex Attias continues the house feeling into "Higher" at an even quicker tempo with some moaning vocals snippets. His brother, Stephan Attias, gets into the action too, with an equally fast mix of "Clouds" that's a bit dreamier, given the title. IG Culture goes full out jazz with their broken beat redo of "Speak Low," while Volcov grinds low and dirty with the rhythm of "Neptune's Rising," even as the melody sails high above. Both Earthbound and Domu offer upbeat takes of "Home" and "Pressure," respectively, eschewing their usual more downtempo work. But it's Tony Nwachukwu who hits the spot with his chop-jazz salad of sound and beats of "Spanish Portrait." Rework it!
