Overall a very nice reissue but definitely subject to GZ's iffy quality control. Per my exchanges with the mastering engineer, the source for this was a 24 bit version of the previous remaster released on CD in 2009. I never bought that disc, but compared to my 80s Statik CD this LP sounds like the rhythm section was EQ'd to be more prominent. That's not a bad thing IMHO. The gatefold jacket looks great, but my first copy of this had some loud pops on side 2 so I exchanged it for another copy. My second copy is better but still not 100% perfect.

My brand new personal copy has some clicks and pops during quiet places. I cleaned it with my VPI record cleaner but that didn't help. Typical of picture discs? Probably. Has anyone else noticed this about this release?

Picture discs honestly are just for looking at. Very low quality audio. I suggest buying the black vinyl.

First official release in over 30 years. 2 different versions, clear vinyl with a gatefold sleeve, and also a limited edition picture disc (Limited to 500 copies). As far as I know..... It's not had an official release for over 30 years.... This is supported by the fact they're now releasing an "official" remaster in July this year. As i said in my initial post.... I had it out of the horses mouth, and was told off record that they were planning a release of the remaster later this year.

I didn't know this was a boot when I bought it. I also listened to it before I knew it was a boot and it sounds really nice. I don't believe in buying boots but didn't realise it was at time of purchase. Happy with this copy though.

I think it sounds fine but I can't compare it to the original. I bought this from a local shop with some store credit after some trade-ins. I think it was worth the $20.

I have this reissue which I purchased on EBay and was duped... It's not official, and likely a bootleg as there hasn't been an official reissue of this album as yet. And that's out of the horses mouth (Mark Burgess). This album is not a gatefold sleeve as the original was and doesn't have the picture inner with lyrics, just a generic white inner. Plays OK, but is not a remaster. If you want my opinion, steer away from this, and await an official remaster of this excellent album which hopefully is slated for later in the year.

I have 3 different white label test pressings.1x is in a plain cardboard sleeve1x is in the normal album, complete with posterThe best is a record store promo where the gatefold sleeve was folded and never glued - extremely rare.They do exist, if you look for them...

My copy has different identifiers: SID Mastering code IFPI L042. Matrix: 97877 GOODCD7. Is this a different edition? Thx
