Sad that the Autechre remix is not on this. Not only is it far better than the Kode9 remix, it's much darker, if not darker than the original with how sparse and hollow it feels. Actually quite surpised to see that people seem to think that the Kode9 version is better than the original. I can't see/hear it.

It's on the Infected 4 track release. It's on vinyl and digital. Just not on this release.

The Autechre remix was released 3 years later. It was probably created later.

The Bug on one side and Kode9 on the other, how could this possibly be bad? The original version is phenomenal, but Kode9's version is untouchable. Starts out nice and ominous and boy does it go in! Very disappointing to see physical copies of this going for such crazy prices, but I'm not at all surprised. Anybody got a link to official MP3's? Can't seem to find it on Hyperdub's site...

The kode9 remix is a descent into hell. Amazing tune.

Don't pay stupid inflated prices! sellers are trying to bump up the median price!!

After reading the existing review (by renzelkouten 04.11.08) I thought I had better re-listen to the Kode 9 remix as I was hoping for some "sonic devastation". Sadly it did not come. The original version is superior in all ways and I think it would have been more fitting to let the Autechre mix make its way onto the flip here. I really don't know what has happened to Kode 9 - his remix is well tame, adding nothing that explores the message or energy of original version. All those girly voices saying "Kode 9" repeatedly is just self promotion at the start of the remix here. About the bass: Kode 9 verses Kevin Martin?... no contest - K-Mart wins hands down for a solid history of low frequency warfare and on the original version here we get that in plentiful amount so the remix is pretty pointless aside the introduction of the almost 2-step. Though there are still people out there that love a cheesy pitch-rush and and blippy additives in a remix - seriously, the original has to be one of the darkest bass droppers that arrived in '08. In fact I was personally so blown away by Skeng's sombre, genuinely foreboding weight and sound pressure both in the production and the wordplay, that I have been unable to accept any further efforts from The Bug since this release... Never heard anything quite like this track - shame about the weedy graffiti round the back.(no trolling intended)

Have to agree with you. The Kode9 mix is not very good tbh. I'm very surprised at the other comments on here about it.

Killer 12 from the peerless Hyperdub label. The Kode 9 mix is one of the most sonically devastating pieces of wax ever. Its starts with a foreboding beat that seems to have Japanese people saying 'Kode 9' in mad voices before it goes 'You don't want to see me get evil'. Which is what it does, of course! Then it drops and my oh my what a drop, this is as killer as killer gets really. Screaming space synths and a great flow from Flow Dan and Killa P. This one dedicated to all bad man whether from Manchester or London, you know wha to do. Buy, listen, dance! (Like a maniac). The bass is so heavy its like some fusion between Garage, dub and crazy electro that is pulled off with such aplomb i'm still breathless. And the track just never sits still with the two vocalists exchanging verses over a constantly changing background. Boom, boom, boom bass. Long may Hyperdub reign with forward thinkin intelligent yet grimey dance floor bombs such as this, respect is due.
